General
Via the
main menu item Portal / Edit menu users with the
portal permission
Applications or
Design
can edit the menu structure of the portal. All changes to the menu
structure will take immediate effect when you click on
OK.
Tree
In the left-hand area, you will see the entire, current portal menu
structure in a tree view.
Table
You can also view the menu structure as a
Table. In the table, the
Title of the element is given as well as the
Path by which an element can be found in the portal menu structure.
Filter
In the top area, you have the ability to search for individual elements of the
menu. Enter the title to be found in the
Filter field.
In every portal, there are three pre-defined menu structures available:
- Standard: Suitable for desktop views
- Mobile: Suitable for mobile devices
- Quicklinks: All menu points contained here are shown as quicklinks
These menu structures can be assigned the various
Menu elements that you use in the layout. These are represented by the
symbol in the tree structure.
Title
In the right-hand area, the title of each menu structure can be edited.
Menu folders will be represented with this
symbol in the tree structure.
Title
If a menu folder is selected, its properties, e.g. its
Title, can be edited in the right-hand area.
Start page of the menu item
No start page
With this option, no start page will be loaded in the application area initially - the area will remain empty.
Portal page
Here, each menu point can be assigned its own portal page, on which any combination of portlets from the portal applications can be shown in the browser. Select the desired portal page in the drop-down list. With
Edit portal pages, new portal pages can be defined.
Default start pages
With this option, you can choose from one of the following standard pages:
- Intrexx default start page
shows a list of all applications that are located in the submenu directly beneath the menu folder in the browser.
- Forums page
lists all forum that are contained in the selected menu folder on the start page.
- Login page
shows a page with the ability to enter the username and password for logging in to the portal.
- Start page mobile devices without login
can be used for mobile devices that are not JavaScript-enabled.
- Start page mobile devices with login
shows a page with the ability to enter the username and password for logging in to the portal for mobile devices.
- Pinboard mobile devices without login
shows all current entries from the selected data groups of portal applications. Can be used for mobile devices that are not JavaScript-enabled.
- Pinboard mobile devices with login
shows all current entries from the selected data groups of portal applications - with the ability to log in.
- Appointments mobile devices without login
shows the appointments from the portlet Pinboard.
Application
Applications can also be selected as the start page for a menu folder.
Select the desired
Application from the list, and
the
Page that will be shown when the menu folder is clicked on. All pages that are valid as a start page for the
application can be selected from the drop-down list
Page.
Alternative start page
Here, a VM file can be implemented as an alternative
start page. The file must be located in the directory
<portal>\internal\.
Enter the path in square brackets:
vm[internal\system\vm\html\include\VMFile.vm].
Additionally, the ability to output a CMS article as a start page
is available.
- CMS1 article
To integrate a CMS1 article, enter the link here under Alternative
start page in the format cms[App-GUID, Page-GUID,
Rec-ID] in square brackets.
- CMS2 pages
Since these pages can act as folders, the CMS2 pages simply need to be placed in the menu using the CMS2
application to integrate them here. In the Menu Designer, other elements, such as
applications, links, subfolders, etc, can then be assigned below the
CMS2 page.
Additional parameters
Individual parameters can be defined here. The value of this parameter will then be
transmitted as a request upon clicking on a further menu item. Ideally,
individual parameters should start with the character string
rq_.
Here is an example for a user-defined parameter in the
menu structure:
rq_myparameter=myvalue
These parameters can be processed when the page is loaded, such as for
table filtering. The internal parameter
rq_Layout can
be used to change the layout when a menu item is selected. To do so,
transfer the name of your layout:
rq_layout=mylayout
Via the menu item
Edit / New, you can add a new
menu. New menus can only be inserted when you highlight the
portal in the menu structure. The menu
New is
also available from the
context menu.
In the same way, menu folders can be inserted into any position below a
menu in the menu structure. Existing menu folders can be moved via drag
& drop.
Insert application
All applications that have been published in
your portal can be selected here and, as with menu folders, moved to the menu structure
via drag & drop. A single application can be entered multiple times in various menu
folders or at various levels. The data that is entered and edited in
them will be thereby be written to the same database table.
Title
The application's title can be edited here.
Application / Page
Select the desired application and page, respectively, that should be displayed when the application is clicked on.
Use title of application
If this setting is active, the application name is automatically used as the title. It is not possible to then change the title.
Open in new browser window
With this setting, the application will be opened in a new window.
Additional parameters
As it was with the
alternative start pages, additional parameters can also be entered here, these will be taken over in the request.
Insert link
With this function, a website of your choice can be shown in the
portal.
Title
The link's title can be edited here.
Link
Here, you can include an external website in the menu structure. Select the
protocol from the drop-down list that the website can be reached with.
Enter the URL to the right of the protocol.
Open in new browser window
With this setting, the link will be opened in a new window.
Insert separator
Title
If you want to show the separator as text, you can enter the text
that is to be shown into the
Title field.
Show image
The
Show image setting makes it possible to load an
Select image. By clicking on
Edit alternative text, text can be entered that
will be shown when a user has deactivated the loading of images or a
user agent does not allow images to be displayed.
Styles
If you click on
Style in the lower area
of the dialog, you have the ability to change the style properties of
menu elements.
Layout
Here, you can select the layout in which the changes are to take effect. All
layouts that have been saved on the server for the current portal are
available to you there. Click on
Add CSS rule if you want to add a CSS rule for the menu item.
If you, for example, want to change the background color of a menu item in
a layout when it is selected with the mouse, simply select the entry
Menu
item (selected). The style properties of links in the menu
that you have created via the menu item
Edit / New, or
of applications, must be set via the properties
Link in menu,
Link in menu (hover), and
Link in menu (selected). Please
note that the foreground properties, such as color and font, must be
changed via the style properties of
Link in menu.
If the new settings should be implemented in all menus, select the
entry
All desktop layouts in the drop-down list.
